Hello from a jet-lagged author
I’m on my way to Poland as you’re reading this and I’m hoping by the time I arrive my jet lag will finally be behind me.
I’ve been looking forward to this trip and to having more time to write, but the lingering issues with my body clock have meant I haven’t been as productive as I was hoping to be.
The good news is, I’ve finished my Lady Clues Christmas short story and if you’d like to read it for free, it’s available for download until 31 December 2022.
Thank you for all the love
I haven’t had much time or access to the Internet this week, but every time I’ve checked in on A Roaring Murder there’s been more good ratings on Amazon. They’re closing in on 180 now, which is just phenomenal. I’m both overwhelmed and so incredibly grateful to everyone who’s left a rating or review. Having a high number of them means Amazon shows the book to more people when they’re looking for something new to read.
Update on Lady Marigold book two
I’m now getting stuck into Lady Marigold book two, A High Society Murder. My goal is to have most of the writing done by the time I get back to Australia in January ahead of its release on 30 April 2023. It’s been great to see so many of you pre-ordering it. Thank you so much for that too.
This week I’ve been…
Travelling…in Germany. It’s been magical to experience the Christmas markets in so many towns and villages. As an Aussie who’s only ever known Christmas as a summer celebration, the snow and cold has been lovely.
Reading…the Lord Edgington Investigates mystery series by Benedict Brown. I really love this 1920s series about a teenage boy who finds himself the assistant to his ex-police detective grandfather. It’s a really unique take on a 1920s cozy mystery.
Watching…not much. There hasn’t been a lot of time for TV as we’ve been out most evenings, but I’m planning to see what the White Lotus hype is about.
Eating…all the Christmas market food. Lots of sausages and potatoes! But also, some traditional German dishes like apple strudel and Käsespätzle.
Next week’s newsletter will come to you from Prague where I’m spending Christmas.
Until then, may all the books you read be great ones.
